Though my father never stepped on the mat, he always recommended the sport of wrestling to me. I eventually took his advice. I wrestled in high school, college [club]. and coached. Though I never had too much success on the mat, the lessons I learned brought me a lot of success off the mat.
When my twins sons were born, I wanted to expose them to the sport. To help gain their interest at a young age, I painted a few of their Lego minifigs like Penn State wrestlers and recreated a few iconic moments from Penn State wrestling history.
I shared a few fotos of my recreations on twitter. The modest positive feedback was enough to keep this hobby going. I have enjoyed connecting with the amazing wrestling community as part of my artistic process and I am very grateful to everyone who has sent advice or words of wisdom to my sons.
